Many disciplines use archaeology to foster an understanding of the past. The
Consortium for Archaeological research at Michigan
State University, founded in 1995 to integrate the use of these differing
disciplinary oreintations and methods, is dedicated to research and dissemination
of knowledge about past human societies through the use of written documentation
and the material remains of past human behavior.
A broad spectrum of archaeological faculty and students from the departments
of Anthropology, History, Geography, Art,
the MSU Museum, and related disciplines
engage in the consortium's highly interactive environment and interdisciplinary
dialogue.
